PERSONAL STORYTELLING

AI Advertising

The National Film Board of Canada, in collaboration with artist and lecturer Sandra Rodriguez from MIT, created an AI avatar of Noam Chomsky. Scraping the internet for every piece of spoken word, the groundbreaking AI persona was contained in a virtual reality experience that visitors could interact with.

Brief

To acknowledge the natural unease this experience elicited, we crafted a TV message that embraced the surreal, but rapidly approaching world of generative AI and the core truth of the AI age - we need to Question Everything.

What We Did

We created two films. One demonstrating the experience and one to get the public's attention.

All aspects of the production were rooted in AI. Imagery, music and voice were all created by feeding LLMs images, prompts and visual, audio and animation styles into a narrative. The final result was a truly human and computer collaboration.

All aspects of the production were built on a full-stack AI workflow. Visuals, animations, music and voice were all created by generative LLMs, images, audio and animation models, prompted, directed and assembled by us.

Results

The final result garnered a lot of earned media. The experience sold out. Not too bad for the first original AI commercial campaign created for a division of the Canadian Federal Government.
